Security
All participants will need to enter through the
special visitors’ entrance at 720 19th Street, NW (IMF Center, corner
H Street). This is the white tent. Allow at least 15 minutes for security
procedures, so please arrive early. Bring a government issued photo ID.
Travel
Airports:
Washington (Reagan) National airport: Blue Line
subway, exit Farragut West station on 18th Street. Walk with traffic
(west) to 19th Street; turn left and proceed 2.5 blocks. A cab ride
will be about $12; there are no meters in the cab; check fare with the attendant
prior to entering the cab. Allow about 30 minutes for travel.

Dulles Airport: buses can take you directly to
downtown Washington (check information at the airport; shuttle buses can take
you to the subway—West Falls Church on the Orange Line. Exit on 18th
Street. Walk with traffic (west) to 19th Street; turn left and
proceed 2.5 blocks. A cab ride is between $44 and $50 depending on traffic.
Allow an hour for travel.

Train:
Union station is on the Red Line Subway; transfer
at Metro Center to the Orange/Blue Line on the lower level. Exit Farragut West

Taxis:
Note DC cabs do not have meters. Ask the fare
before entering the car.
Meals:
Monday evening: for guests arriving from
out of town, if you would like to get together for dinner, we will gather at 7
p.m. at Meiweh Chinese Restaurant, 1200 New Hampshire Avenue N.W. (close to the

For those on UN travel, you will be expected to
cover this from your per diem. Those on New Rules travel, your dinner will be
paid for. All others are expected to cover their own expenses.
Breakfasts: We will not provide a
continental breakfast at the meeting.
Lunches and coffee breaks Tuesday and
Wednesday are part of the meeting.
A reception at the IMF will follow the
afternoon session on Tuesday.
Dinners: on your own. Ask a local person
for recommendations of restaurants. We expect small groups will form
spontaneously.
Reimbursements:
Those persons traveling on a UN travel arrangement
are provided with a per diem. Follow the information provided by the UN travel
office
Those persons traveling on New Rules’ funds, please
save original receipts and submit to Jamie Baker either in person or by mail.
You will be reimbursed in US dollars by a check issued at a local bank. The
usual restrictions apply, such as, no hotel expenses such as phone, laundry,
room service or alcoholic beverages.
